Nowshera Virkan Tehsil

Nowshera Virkan (Urdu: نوشہره وِركاں‎), is a tehsil and large city west of the industrial city of Gujranwala, Punjab, Pakistan.

History

NOWSHERA History : There are two theories about the name of Nowshera 1. Some say it was new city founded by virk family so its name is Nowshera Virkan mean ( new city of virks ) 2. Other thinks this city is connected by 9 Roads Nowshera Virkan was always a center of political activities from very start days it was dominated by few jutt families that include Virk Family of Baddoratta (CH Nazir Virk and his younger brother CH Bashir Virk ) and virk Family of Matta Virkan ( CH Muhmammad Ghose Virk ) , Virk Family of Artali Virkan (Ch Nazir Virk) Virk Family of Chah Dohatta ( Ch bashir and Nazir Virk) was also well known families. On The other Side Few of Rajpoot Families also remain in power off and on That mainly include Rana Ijaz and Abdul Rehman Gujjar etc. Nowshera Virkan is a hub of rice-growing villages. It is one of the four tehsils of Gujranwala District and lies between three large cities: Gujranwala, Hafizabad and Sheikhupura. Nowshera virkhan is the most popular tehsil (subdivision) of Gujranwala district. The majority of the people are of the Jutt caste. It is the biggest tehsil in terms of area. Haji Mudassar Qayyum Nahra is one of the most influential and popular leader of this area . He is affiliated with PML (N) Other well known leaders include Rana Bilal he is affiliated with PTI . Education

Nowshera Virkan was very backward in education but in recent years education is in full bloom as lot of people getting higher education and becoming doctors and Engineers . Nowshehra Virkan's educational institutions include Government Degree College for Girls, Government Degree College for Boys, Government Commerce Institute, Dar-e-Arqam School for Girls and Boys, The Educators School for Girls and Boys, Alied school for Girls and Boys, and Superior college for Girls and Boys. There is the famous Bismillah Market (garments and cosmetics shop).

There is a government department, police station, and head Qatar Hospital.

Transportation

Nowshehra Virkan is linked with Lahore and Kamonki via Tatlay Aali, while another highway called Gujranwala Road connects it with Gujranwala and Rawalpindi/Islamabad. Another road connects the city with Farooqabad. Nowshehra Virkan has no railway stations; the nearest are in Gujranwala and Kamonki.
