Season 1894–95 was the 22nd Scottish football season in which Dumbarton competed at national level, entering the Scottish Football League for the fifth time, and the Scottish Cup for the 22nd time.
Overview
The inability to match the bigger clubs in enticing the best players had its inevitable effect with Dumbarton finishing 10th (and bottom) of the First Division with just 7 points, 24 behind champions Hearts.[1]
In the Scottish Cup, Dumbarton were knocked out in the second round by non-league King's Park.
Locally, there was some better news, with Dumbarton retaining the Dumbartonshire Cup for the eighth consecutive season, beating Renton in the final.
During the season, 9 'other' matches were played, including a short tour of London during Easter. Of these matches, 3 were won, 2 drawn and 4 lost, scoring 17 goals and conceding 18.
