Praia Grande (Portuguese meaning "large beach") is a large beach on the northeast coast of the island of São Vicente, Cape Verde. It is 1.5 km northwest of the village Calhau. Beach sands lie next to volcanic rocks of nearby Monte Calhau.

Praia Grande has a rock formation consisting a collapsed flank, a depression 10-12 kilometers in diameter, its a it around 4.5 to 3.1 million years old and consists of nephelinitic lafva flows associated with carbonatite, foidite and phonolitic rocks. It is next to the Monte Verde formation.[1]
