The International Sports Stadium, Saifai (Hindi:अंतरराष्ट्रीय क्रीड़ा संकुल, सैफई) is an international-level sports complex with an athletics stadium, an indoor stadium, an indoor swimming pool and under constriction international cricket stadium in Saifai, Etawah District of Uttar Pradesh. It is well known as Antarrashtriy Kridaa Sanakul (Antararāṣṭrīya Krīṛā Saṅkula).

Athletics Stadium

The 40,000-capacity Athletics Stadium, which is used for various sports/events, fullfills all international parameters to host any international athletics event.[2]

Indoor Swimming Pool

It has Saifai's second swimming pool which is in indoor and fulfills international standards of swimming(sport).[2]

Indoor Stadium

This sports complex had an indoor stadium too.[2]

Under constriction International Cricket Stadium

Work for the international cricket stadium in International Sports Stadium, Saifai had begun in 2006 when Mulayam Singh Yadav was the chief minister. But the project could not be completed and later got stuck following alleged anomalies in construction work. The government has now decided to breathe new life into the project of 50,000 seater international cricket stadium in Saifai.[2][3]

Other Sports Facilities in Saifai, Etawah

Saifai has two Sports Complexes, othere one is named Chandgi Ram Sports Complex, an international-level sports complex having a hockey pitch, badminton hall and a swimming pool.[2] It is named after Haryanvi wrestler Chandgi Ram.

Sports College & University

Saifai village has a residential sports college, established in 2014. It offers teaching from 6th to 12th standardand by the curriculum of Board of High School and Intermediate Education, Uttar Pradesh (U.P. Board) and sports training in cricket, football, hockey, wrestling, athletics, badminton, swimming and kabaddi.

In 2015, the work of a first-of-its-kind Sports University started at Saifai.[4]

About Saifai

Saifai is a village in the Etawah District of Uttar Pradesh. It is situated between Mainpuri and Etawah. Distance between it and Mainpuri is 33 km, and distance between it and Etawah is 20 km.

Saifai is the birthplace of Mulayam Singh Yadav founder president of Samajwadi Party, former Minister of Defence (India) & former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.
