Gunupur College is a Graduation College located in Gunupur in the eastern state of India and is affiliated to Berhampur University.[1] The college is situated to the eastern end of the town.The college maintains a 40 seated hostel.

History

The college was established in the year 1973 at Gunupur with the benevolent help of the local gentlemen with an aim to impart all round education in the locality. It is located at the south-eastern part of Gunupur town on a site gifted by Sri Narasingha Gouda of Alada and Sri.Laxmi Narayan Patro of Sirijholi. Shri M.Suryanarayana was its first principal and presently Sri S.Lokanath is the principal. The College offers degree courses in the arts, science and commerce streams with an intake capacity of 128, 96 and 128 students respectively.

The college has given rise to many well known personalities such as Dr. Prasant Kumar Tripathy,[2][3] presently an associate professor of IIT Madras and Sri P.Hrushikesh, presently an Indian air force officer at Ludhiana.
