Eastside High School (EHS) is a public high school located in Taylors, a suburb of Greenville, South Carolina, United States. It is a public school under the jurisdiction of the Greenville County School District.

Eastside has had 12 principals since its inception.[2]

Academics

Eastside was ranked as the eighth toughest high school in the state, as well as the fourth best overall high school in the state in 2015. It was ranked first in both categories in Greenville County. It had a graduation rate of 88% in 2015, above the state rate of 80.3%.[3]

In 2015, Eastside had an average ACT composite score of 20.0, which was above the district's average of 18.9 and the state's average of 17.9.[3] Additionally, Eastside High consistently has the highest percentage of students taking AP tests in Greenville County—with a 68% overall pass rate.

In 2015, Eastside had an average Algebra 1 EOC pass rate of 95.6%, an average English 1 EOC pass rate of 73.9%, an average Biology EOC pass rate of 88.1%, and an average US History EOC pass rate of 76.2%. All of these were above state averages.[4]

Athletics

Eastside High School's teams have won 36 state championships. Eastside's athletics is most noted for wrestling, soccer, cross country, swimming, volleyball, and basketball.[5]

Eastside has won 25 upper state championships and 102 region championships.[6]

Notable Alumni

Notable alumni include:

Daniel Sollinger (born 1967) resides in Los Angeles, CA where he works as a film producer. After graduating Eastside in 1985, Daniel has gone on to produce over 350 commercials and music videos ranging from Will Smith’s music video "Summertime" to the opening for “The Daily Show.[7] He has also been a producer on over 30 feature films including "Girls Against Boys," "The Alphabet Killer," "In My Sleep," and "Rhyme & Reason."[8]
