Winhye Aviation UAV

Winhye UAVs are Chinese UAVs developed by Beijing Winhye Aviation Co., Ltd. (Winhye Aviation, 北京云汉联合航空科技有限公司), a company that traditionally has been a provider of subsystems to other UAV manufacturers, namely, the electro-optical pods and software. Recently, Winhye has expanded its business in the UAV arena by developing its own brand of UAVs.

Type 1

Type 1 UAV is a gasoline-powered fixed-wing UAV in conventional layout and propulsion is provided by a two-blade propeller driven by a piston engine mounted in the nose. Type 1 UAV has tricycle landing gear system. Specification:[1]

Type 2

Type 2 UAV is a fixed-wing UAV in conventional layout with T-tail configuration. Type 2 UAV has tricycle landing gear and propulsion is provided by a two-blade propeller driven by a piston engine mounted in the nose. Specification:[1]

Type 3

Type 3 UAV is a fixed-wing UAV in twin-boom layout with tricycle landing gear system, and propulsion is provided by a two-blade propeller driven by a piston engine mounted in the rear end of the fuselage. Type 3 has been deployed in aerial survey missions. Specification:[1]

Hexacopter

Winhye hexacopter is electrically powered, and it is intended for aerial photography and aerial powerline inspection. Propulsion consists of a pair of skids, and navigation is provided by GPS. Flight control system is STM32 to RS-232 standard. Specification:[2]

AT-3

AT-3 is a fixed UAV designed to replace Type 1, and as a successor to earlier Type 1, the general layout of the two are identical so equipments used for Type 1 can be easily adopted for AT-3. The navigational system and flight control system of AT-3 is the same ones adopted for hexacopter, so the cost is reduced by standardization. Specification: [3]

Unmanned Helicopter

Winhye has developed an unmanned helicopter specifically for environmental and pollution surveillance. This unmanned helicopter is in conventional helicopter layout, with an addition of communication antenna housed in a mast mounted fairing atop of main rotor for real time data transmission. Landing gear system consists of a pair of skids.[4]

UCAV

Winhye has developed a UCAV that is derived from a reconnaissance UAV, and hence the complete name is Reconnaissance Strike Integrated UAV (Cha Da Yi-Ti Wu-Ren-Ji, 察打一体无人机). There are actually two versions of this UCAV, and both look similar to Boeing Insitu ScanEagle due to the identical layout the three UAV share. What differs the two versions of Winhye UCAV from each other is the winglets. For one version, the winglets point upward, while for the other, its winglets point downward. Specification:[5]
