University School of Information, Communication and Technology (formerly University School of Information Technology) is a premier constituent institute of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. The school offers a full-time B.Tech, M.Tech, as well as MCA programs. The admission process is through IPU-CET national level exam in which around 150000 students appear every year(more than 200,000 appeared in 2014). The institute is the first preferred choice of top rankers in IPU-CET exam.[1]

History

Founded in 1999, University School of Information Technology was established by the Government of Delhi as one of the 12 University Schools of Studies under the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University.

Admission

Admissions to the 4+2 year B.Tech+M.Tech (Integrated) as well as MCA(SE) program of USICT is done on the basis of merit in an All India Level Common Entrance Test (IPUCET) which is conducted by the university annually.

The students admitted in the 4+2 dual degree course have an option to quit after 4 year B.Tech.

Industry relation

USICT has a memorandum of understanding with CISCO systems, IBM and Intel.[2] USICT is also the Cisco regional academy for northern India.

The final year students of USICT are placed with the top IT companies like Adobe, Samsung R & D, Naggaro, TCS, Vinsol, Impetus, Infogain, Intelligrape, TechMahindra, Flipkart, Snapdeal.[3]

InfoXpression

InfoXpression is the annual festival of the USICT. It was organized by The Students Association of Information Technology (SAInT).This year(2016) it is being organised by TechSpace.

Neurotrix

Neurotrix is the annual technical festival of the IEEE Student Branch.

LeThAc

LeThAc - Learn Think Act - is the annual Open Source Conclave organized by the IEEE Student Branch.
