Test Valley School is a comprehensive secondary school with Specialist Status in Mathematics and Computing located in Stockbridge, Hampshire, England.

Due to its rural location, it has a wide catchment area, with significant numbers of students travelling from Andover, Salisbury, Romsey, The Wallops and other small villages near to Stockbridge.

Ofsted (May 2013) judged the school as ‘Good’ in all areas and highlighted that ‘standards are rising, teaching is good and becoming better and pupils’ attendance has improved. These improvements demonstrate the school’s strong capacity for further improvement’. As a small rural school they are able to provide a stable and caring community for every pupil and Ofsted confirmed that ‘relationships are very good. Pupils are polite and friendly towards adults and treat each other with consideration and respect’. It was also noted that their ‘pupils enjoy school and are keen to do well’.

Their motto is ‘in pursuit of personal excellence’ for all and they offer a wide range of opportunities and experiences in and out of the classroom to develop and inspire our pupils as young learners. They want to encourage and foster in them a range of positive attributes, skills and attitudes to prepare them for a rapidly changing world beyond school.[1]

The school emblem is the Test Valley Trout and this is seen on the uniform. It has been designed so that the emblem incorporates simplistic shapes, emphasising its specialisms. The uniform colours are bottle green for Years 7-9, grey for Years 10-11 and Year 11, and prefects (Year 11) have their own black T-shirts rather than grey.

As a specialist school in maths, the students take parts in various 'challenges' in the mathematical world.the main challenge Test Valley undertakes is the UKMT or the UK math challenge taken once every year by the top maths sets from each year. Also a few years a go some year 9's did the 'Peachy Fruitcakes', who managed to come joint first in the National Cipher Challenge.

The school is also known for its work in Environmental and Land Based Science and plays home to animals such as crosslands, pigeons and rabbits. The chickens can be seen wandering throughout the school grounds as they are allowed to roam freely.

The school has six houses named after local people who did notable things throughout history, all with their own house colour; Austen (Yellow), Dickens (Orange), Gaunt (Red), Nightingale (Green), Sopwith (White) and Wickam (Blue).
