Sofía Lama (Spanish pronunciation: [soˈfi.a (e)sˈtamaˈtjaðes]; born Sofía Lama Stamatiades on June 9, 1987 in Puebla, Mexico) is a Mexican actress of Greek descent. Sofia Lama was born in Puebla, Mexico, a state full of culture and traditions on the center of Mexico. She started acting at the age of 11, being the star of several TV shows for kids such as Disney Club of Disney Channel Mexico. At the age of 18, she decided to go and live indefinitely in Mexico City. She starred in musical comedies such as "Grease" (2007) playing Frenchie, touring successfully around Mexico. She played lead roles in several Mexican plays in the most important theaters in Mexico City such as "Las Arpias" (2009) "El ultimo Aliento" (2015).

She studied 3 years film in the Estudios Cinematograficos INIDI, acting classes with Adriana Barraza, Oscar nominated in 2006 for Babel, and she also studied with Juan Carlos Coraza (Spain).

She made several series and telenovelas in Mexico, the best known was Sonaras (2004), before getting the opportunity to travel to Miami and begin her career in the Latin market of United States. Her series and telenovelas with NBC Universal Telemundo have aired multiple times in more than 100 countries worldwide and were watched by millions of people in the States—"Pecados Ajenos" (2007) "Sin Senos no hay Pariaso" Colombia (2008) currently on Netflix "La Casa de Al Lado" (2010) currently on Netflix "Rosa Diamante" (2011) "Dama y Obrero" (2012). In 2010, she played 'Alicia Gonzalez' in the acclaimed and popular telenovela "Eva Luna" aired by Univision. It drew more than 9.1 million viewers in the United States in its finale, and she became one of the most popular young actresses in the Latin industry in the US.

In 2012, she played 'Stephanie' in the spanglish web-series "Mia Mundo" and "Mia Mundo 2", with more than 15 millions views in internet. In 2013, she got her first lead role on a film "Desde el Mas Alla" which she also produced, getting awards and very good critics in the most important Mexican film festivals in Mexico. The same year, she played a supporting actress playing 'Vanessa' in the romantic Mexican movie "Enamorandome de Abril".

In 2014, she starred next to Kate del Castillo and Adriana Barraza in "Dueños del Paraiso" (Paradise Owners) of NBC Universal Telemundo, playing 'Silvana Cardona' currently on Netflix.

She is currently living in Los Angeles, California.
