Permanent magnet motor

A permanent magnet motor is a type of brushless electric motor that uses permanent magnets rather than windings in the rotor.

This type of motor is used in the Chevy Spark EV[1] and Chevy Bolt EV.[2] It is more efficient, but also more likely to overheat, than an induction motor.
