Michael Dixon (political activist)

Michael Dixon is an American libertarian political activist and was the national chair of the United States Libertarian Party from 2004 to 2006.

A management consultant in the financial services industry, Dixon was elected to the position of national chair on the first ballot by delegates to the 2004 Libertarian National Convention in Atlanta. Dixon had previously served as a member of the Libertarian National Committee (as an at-large member and as a regional representative) since 1998, and as chair of the Illinois Libertarian Party from 1993 to 1994.

Dixon's other professional experience includes development consulting with various free-market causes including The Heartland Institute and the recent appointment as a member of the corporation of the American Institute of Economic Research in Great Barrington, Massachusetts.
