List of submissions to the 45th Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film

The following 22 films, all from different countries, were submitted for the 45th Academy Awards in the category Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film which took place in 1973. The bolded titles were the five nominated films, which came from France, Israel, Spain, Sweden and the USSR. France won the Oscar for the fifth time since the Foreign Language category was officially introduced.[1]

Kuwait submitted a film for the first time.
