List of AAA World Cruiserweight Champions

Extreme Tiger was a two time champion

The AAA World Cruiserweight Championship is a professional wrestling championship promoted by the Mexican Lucha Libre promotion Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA). The Championship has been in existence since 2009 and cannot be competed for by anyone who is over the Cruiserweight division weight limit of 105 kg (231 lb) and below.[1] Being a professional wrestling championship, it is not won legitimately; it is instead won via a scripted ending to a match or awarded to a wrestler because of a storyline. Traditionally Mexican wrestling promotions operate with a number of weight divisions, and the official name for the 105 kg (231 lb) weight limit would be a "Junior Heavyweight" division in Mexico, but since AAA has no lower limit they have chosen to use the North American term "Cruiserweight" instead.

The championship was originally named the AAA Cruiserweight Championship. but had the word "world" added to the name after El Hijo del Fantasma won a match on August 17, 2014 that unified the championship with the AAA Fusión Championship.[2] A total of six men have held the championship for a total of eight different title reigns. El Hijo del Fantasma is the current champion, having defeated Daga, Angélico, Australian Suicide, Bengala, Drago, Fénix, Jack Evans, Joe Líder and Pentagón Jr. at Triplemanía XXII.[2]
