The East Geelong Football Club are an Australian rules football club which compete in the Geelong DFL since 1879.[1] They are based in the Geelong suburb of East Geelong.

Geelong Football League
When the league was formed in 1979 when the lions were one of the 12 clubs that broke away from the Geelong & District Football League.[2] The city and country clubs of the old GDFL were divided into the major league competition of the GFL and the minor league GDFL. After finishing last in the first season, East Geelong was demoted back to the Geelong & District Football League.
