Diocese of Vanuatu and New Caledonia

The Diocese of Vanuatu and New Caledonia is one of the nine current dioceses of the Anglican Church of Melanesia.

It is one of the four original founding dioceses of the Church, erected in 1975[1] as the Diocese of New Hebrides[2] and inaugurated in 1975 at Lolowai on Aoba Island. The diocese has eight regions and 39 parishes and is headquartered in Luganville.

1978 1989 Harry Tevi Second bishop.
1990 2000 Michael Tavoa Third bishop; consecrated and installed on 21 April 1990.[3]
2000 2006 Hugh Blessing-Boe Fourth bishop; consecrated and installed on 29 June 2000.[4]
2006 present James Ligo Fifth bishop;[5] called Bishop of Vanuatu and New Caledonia.
