Clifton-upon-Dusnmore C of E Primary School, is a Church of England school located in the village of Clifton-upon-Dunsmore, just outside Rugby. It is a one form entry school that has existed from 1850.

History

Foundation

The school was founded in 1850 and originally had two classrooms and served the village around it.

Recent history

Over the last 20 years, the school has undergone extensive change. Originally the school was expanded in 1996 with the addition of a school hall, year 3 and 4 classrooms, kitchen and offices. Three temporary cabins were placed in the playground as well to cater for the year 2, 5 and 6 classes. In 2011, a brand new extension opened at the front of the school providing a brand new upstairs room (used then as a replacement year 2 classroom, but now as the staffroom) and a new front office and head's office. In 2014 the temporary cabins were demolished and replaced by a brand new brick building that gave 4 new classrooms, library, toilets and corridor linking them to the rest of the school.

The school launched its website[1] 2 years ago which has gone through many revisions to what is today. Technology has greatly improved at the school over the last 8 years, however last year saw the removal of the ICT suite, when it was converted into part of the Reception classroom.

Results

In 2014, the school gained their highest SATs results to date, with 100% of pupils gaining level 4 and above in almost all areas tested.[2] This fell slightly in 2015. It resulted the school being top in Warwickshire in 2014, increasing their average points score by around 13 points.
