Personal life

Claire was born in Grant, Nebraska, (University source says Grand) but moved to Wyoming shortly after. Claire has participated in a variety of sports, but her two best have always been gymnastics and track and field. Shortly after the pageant, Claire announced on her Twitter page that she was moving to Los Angeles and this is where she currently resides. On July 26, 2015, she became engaged to The Insider host Michael Yo.[1] The couple married on February 14, 2016.[2]

Athletic accomplishments

Claire competed in both gymnastics and track and field in high school. She attended Campbell County High School in Gillette, Wyoming. She was a 4-time state champion in gymnastics and won the individual all-round competition in each of her last three years. Claire also competed in track during this time and finished 2nd in high jump at the Wyoming State Finals in high jump. She went on to attend UNLV on a track scholarship. Her events were high jump, hurdles, 200M, 400M, and pentathlon. Her major was journalism with an emphasis in broadcast journalism.[3]

Claire did an internship with ESPN's Kenny Mayne, working on his internet show "Mayne Street."[4] She worked as a researcher for ABC's Dancing With the Stars.[5]

Beauty pageants

Claire competed in the Miss Wyoming USA 2010 pageant and won.[6][7] Claire then went on to compete in the Miss USA 2010 pageant and become the second Wyoming contestant to ever place in the top 15. Claire's swimsuit score was fractions of a point from landing her in the top 10 where she would have continued on to compete in the evening gown portion of the event.
