Introduction

CSCBank SAL (also known as CSC Group or “CSC”), is a specialized bank and "a major financial institution"[1] headquartered in Lebanon. With over 20 years of experience[2] and processing centers and offices in several countries, CSC has an extensive network and operations in around 30 countries in the Middle East, Africa and Europe.

Managing approximately 2,000 branded product permutations in over 20 currencies, CSC services several industries, which include but are not limited to: Banking, Governmental, Syndicates, Ministries, NGOs, Hospitality, etc.….[3]

History

CSC was incorporated in 1992 with the specific intention of servicing the card needs of banks. In 2001, CSC became an official Financial Institution registered on the list of Financial Institutions at the Central Bank of Lebanon. In 2010, CSC become a specialized bank registered on the list of banks at the Central Bank of Lebanon [4]

Strategy

CSC services the electronic payment needs of financial institutions in an efficient, dedicated and cost effective manner, and offers financial institutions a complete turnkey solution which spans the entire business spectrum.[6]

Moreover, its Disaster Recovery (DR) site, which serves as a back-up, is fully furnished from both the operational and the communicational fronts and is fully equipped with all the necessary computer equipment, telecommunication, facilities and business requirements to ensure business availability for all client banks and institutions.[7]

Services

CSC is well experienced at assisting banks, ranging from small size banks, medium size banks to mega size regional banks, in managing their projects and portfolios of all sizes. The main services offered are the following:[8]

In 2014, CSC launched its mobile payment solution “CMO”, which is accessible on smartphone devices and linked to a mobile number [9] to be used by registered account holders at any of the 13 CMO participating banks. CMO supports the following types of transactions:[10]
