Bonin [ˈbɔnin] (German: Bonin) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Manowo, within Koszalin County, West Pomeranian Voivodeship, in north-western Poland.^[1] It lies approximately 5 kilometres (3 mi) north-west of Manowo, 7 km (4 mi) south-east of Koszalin, and 137 km (85 mi) north-east of the regional capital Szczecin. In Bonin is placed Department of Potato Protection and Seed Science, formerly Potato Research Institute, now part of Plant Breeding and Acclimatization Institute.

Before 1945 the area was part of Germany. After World War II the region was placed under Polish administration and ethnically cleansed according to the post-war Potsdam Agreement. The native German populace was expelled and replaced with Poles. For the history of the region, see History of Pomerania.
