Appersett is a hamlet in the Yorkshire Dales in the Richmondshire district of North Yorkshire, England 0.93 miles (1.5 km) west of Hawes.[1] It lies on the A684 road and has only 23 dwellings in the hamlet.[2] The name Appersett derives from Norse and means the 'Shieling by the apple tree'.[3]

Appersett sits at the northern end of Widdale, where the Widdale Beck has its confluence with the River Ure.[4]
