Aneesh Ravi is an actor, anchor and theatre artist who is active in the Malayalam television industry.[1]

Personal life

Aneesh[2] was born as the son of Mr. Raveendran and Mrs. Ambika at Chirayinkeezhu, Kerala. He holds a post-graduate degree in Malayalam literature and diploma in Media cum Journalism. During his school and college days, Aneesh did amateur plays and presented mimicry. He won the first prize in mimicry during the Kerala University Youth Festival in 1994.

Career

His popular serials include ‘Snehatheeram’, ‘Minnukettu’, ‘Meghala’, ‘Sthree’, ‘Sree Narayana Guru’, 'Oridathoridathu' and ‘Karyam Nissaram’.Aneesh Ravi started his career as a theatre artist in Raghu’s Natakayogam, one among the oldest theatre troupes in Thiruvanathapuram. The one-man play, ‘Choonda’ as a widely appreciated work. He later worked in professional troupes such as Padmasree, Souparnika and Sanghachetana. Some of his popular plays include ‘Ravanaprabhu’, ‘Overbridge’, and ‘Soothaputhran’.

Television career

Aneesh made his stint in television as an actor with serial ‘Snehatheeram’ aired on Doordarshan. He later appeared in soap operas like ‘Mohanam’, ‘Sthree’(Asianet), ‘Minnukettu’ (Surya TV), ‘Alippazham’ (Surya TV) and ‘Manasariyathe’ (Surya TV). His popular serials in Tamil include ‘Meghala’ (Sun TV) and thespian K. Balachander’s ‘Santhinilayam’. For the titular role in the serial ‘Sree Narayana Guru’, Aneesh won a State award (2005). He is currently doing ‘Karyam Nissaram’ in Kairali TV which has gained him more popularity. He plays the role of a village officer.

Apart from interviewing celebrities and being a judge for various reality shows, Aneesh has anchored shows such as ‘Adipoli Swad’ (cookery show), ‘Thillana Thillana’, ‘City Girls’ (Asianet), and ‘Oru Nunakatha’ (WE). He also hosts shows like Campus Colours, Cucumber City and Erivum Puliyum (Janam TV). ‘Tharolsavam’, a reality show initiated by Kairali TV and Sundari Neeyum Sundaran Njanum another reality show initiated by Asianet TV for the small screen artists gave him ample opportunities to exhibit his skills in mime, skits and music.He has also anchored various other programs and participated in popular reality shows.[2] Aneesh Debuted as a producer through 2016 serial Moonu Pennungal under Varadayini creations.
