The 631st Maintenance Company is one of five company's of the 927th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion which is under the MSC of 50th Regional Support Group in the Army National Guard of the United States. Its headquarters are located at Starke, Florida. As of 2016, the Company is commanded by Captain Peter Kis and First Sergeant Gary Spear.
927th DUI: Description A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Or, on a saltire Gules tow double-warded keys saltirewise Or, overall a polestar of the like. Attached below the shield a Red scroll doubled and inscribed "WE SUPPORT THE FORCE" in Gold.
Symbolism Gold/buff and scarlet are the colors traditionally associated with Support organizations. Red is symbolic of vitality and zeal. Gold signifies high ideals, achievement and excellence. The red saltire is adapted from the state flag of Florida; it also denotes strength and support. The crossed keys imply control. The polestar indicates military preparedness in a worldwide theater.
Shoulder Sleeve Insignia: Description/Blazon On a shield-shaped embroidered item, arched outwardly at top blazoned as follows: Per bend sinister Vert and Azure a sun Proper, within a bordure Or; all within a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) Red border. Overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height and 3 1/8 inches (7.93 cm) in width.
Symbolism The insignia in the shape of a broad spear tip, symbolizes Florida's Native American heritage and the home state of the Group. The bend sinister within the border signifies the increased role of the unit to protect the people of Florida during times of disaster. The green and blue background alludes to meeting of land and sea, emphasizing the Group's areas of operations. The sun and its radiating rays allude to the eight cardinal points of the compass, illustrating the global reach and the impact of the soldiers of the 50th Support Group.
