Implementation plan

At first 2016 Indonesian Film Festival was planned to be held in the Papua' province capital Jayapura, where declared to ready to host of implementation of the ceremony awards in November 2016, if will prepare as well as possible for IFF main event in Jayapura. The seriousness of Papuan regional government to host of the 2016 IFF is done by interesting a budget implementation in 2016 RAPBD Papuan. Outside the existing budget of the Ministry, the Papuan regional government is ready to bear the additional financing that will arise as a consequence of the implementation. Papua is not unfamiliar territory for the national film industry, as known to some national films have also been shot in Papua, including Denias, Senandung Di Atas Awan and Epen Cupen The Movie.

However, the Executive Committee decided to cancel the implementation plan in Papua and move it back to Jakarta. According to the Chief Executive, Lukman Sardi, to mention a few points of consideration, including it's too far to reach Papua from Jakarta.[13][14] In addition, the calculation of funds for the judges and the law will be brought to Papua alone is very large. As a result, it makes the committee discouraged. In exchange, the committee agreed to hold at the Taman Ismail Marzuki on November 6.
