The 2016 ASEAN University Games, officially known as the 18th ASEAN University Games, was a multi-sports event held in Singapore from 9 until 19 July 2016 with 173 in 16 Sports and disciplines featured in the games. This was the third time when Singapore hosted the ASEAN University Games, and its first time since 1994.

The final medal tally was led by Thailand, followed by Indonesia and Malaysia with host Singapore in fifth place. Several games and national records were broken during the games. The games were deemed generally successful with the rising standards of competition amongst the participating nations.

9 venues will be used for the games. In addition, Nanyang Technological University will serve as the athletes' village.[1]

A total of 521 medals comprising 175 gold medals, 174 silver medals and 172 bronze medals were awarded to athletes. Host Singapore's performance was their best ever yet and were placed fifth overall among the participating nations.
