Mascot

An anthropomorphic Malayan tiger named Putra was used as the mascot of the games which was named after Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj who is considered in Malaysia as the "Father of Independence. "Putra" also literally means Prince in Malay. He is designed to embody the values of teamwork, cooperation and athletic passion. The mascot's white top is meant to signify harmony and peace among sports people and his blue bottom represents integrity and good sportmanship among the participating athletes.[2]
