Youth in Music

A band practicing for their 2007 performance in the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome

The Youth in Music championship is a marching band competition held annually at the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota in October. The competition was previously held at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome in Minneapolis, Minnesota and at Farmington Senior High School in Farmington, Minnesota. The latest Championship was held on October 8th. Participating are the top-ranked high school marching bands from Minnesota, as well as participants from Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, South Dakota and Nebraska.[1] Due to the timing of the event, at the end of the field show season, it is considered to determine the Minnesota State Champion band.[2][3] The program was begun in 2003 by Greg Struve.
