It was the fastest growing business in Richmond in 2015, with 398% revenue growth. Workshop Digital has twice been named a finalist for the Greater Richmond Chamber of Commerce IMPACT Awards, in 2015[1] and 2016.[2]

History

The company was founded in 2015 through the merger of two digital marketing agencies, Dynamic Web Solutions (DWS) and Your Search Advisor (YSA), founded by Brian Forrester in 2009 and Andrew Miller in 2007, respectively.

At the time of the merger, DWS had 15 employees and focused on search engine optimization; YSA had five employees and provided pay-per-click advertising services. By 2016, the combined company employed approximately 30 individuals.

Company offices are located in the Turning Basin Building in the Shockoe Slip area of downtown Richmond, Virginia.[3]

Company Culture

OpenWork, a nonprofit organization funded by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation to highlight progressive workplace strategies, featured Workshop Digital and its flexible work roles in 2016.[5]

Philanthropy

In 2015 Workshop Digital was ranked 31st among area businesses for corporate giving. Local donations totaled $18,232, with recipients including FETCH a Cure, World Pediatric Project, Richmond SPCA, and Hands on RVA.[7]

Workshop Digital partners with James Madison University to offer an annual scholarship to students taking digital marketing courses at the university.[8]
