West Virginia Department of Agriculture
The West Virginia Department of Agriculture is a government agency of the U.S. state of West Virginia.
Unlike the other departments of the state's government, the Agriculture Commissioner is a separate elected official operating independently of the Governor's authority.
Walt Helmick has served as the Commissioner of the Department since January 2013. He was not re-elected in 2016 and will be replaced by Ken Leonhardt.
