Walang Hanggan (Lit: Boundless / English: My Eternal) is a classic Philippine romantic drama television series loosely based on the 1991 Gomez-Zulueta film Hihintayin Kita Sa Langit,[1] a film based on the Emily Brontë novel, Wuthering Heights. Directed by Jerry Lopez Sineneng and Trina N. Dayrit, it is topbilled by Coco Martin, Julia Montes, Richard Gomez, and Dawn Zulueta, together with an ensemble cast.[2][3] The series was premiered on ABS-CBN and worldwide on The Filipino Channel on January 16, 2012, replacing Nasaan Ka Elisa?. The drama became a huge hit maintaining the top spot in viewer ratings for most of its run, with its final episode on October 26, 2012 attaining its highest rating of 45.4% nationwide.[4]

The story spans three generations.

Cruz sisters Virginia (Susan Roces) and Margaret (Helen Gamboa) vie for the love of Joseph Montenegro (Eddie Gutierrez) in the fictional province of Olivarez. Virginia had to sacrifice everything to let Margaret live a better life with Joseph. Around two decades later, Margaret and Joseph's son Marco (Richard Gomez) develops feelings for Emily Cardenas (Dawn Zulueta), a daughter of a worker in their plantation. However, numerous circumstances and Margaret's haughtiness towards Emily prompts Marco to marry rich banker Jane Bonifacio (Rita Avila) - much to Emily's detriment. It fuels the Virginia-Margaret rivalry more, especially when Marco migrates to the US after Emily shuns him when he tries to explain.

Meanwhile, laborer William Alcantara (Joel Torre) settle in Olivarez with his children Katerina (Julia Montes) and Tomas (Joem Bascon). He adopts a streetboy named Daniel (Coco Martin) while working at the Cruz family business, where Virginia assumes a role as his adoptive grandmother. Daniel first plays around with Katerina but they gradually develop a friendship over the next several years. Marco and Jane return home with their children Johanna (Melissa Ricks) and Nathan (Paulo Avelino), with the latter becoming interested in Katerina as well. Virginia and Margaret's rivalry affects the children. Emily reemerges with a plan to avenge her woes by taking all the shares in the business. At the same time, Nathan schemes to get Daniel out of the way so he can marry Katerina. Tomas stabs Daniel. Daniel remained unconscious for weeks but Emily was confident he would pull through. Katerina, Genia and the Montenegros search for Daniel with the help of the authorities but still there was no sign of him in town or in the nearby farms. The police find Daniel's bloodied shirt and after a few weeks, they presume him dead. Tomas rejoices, as no one knows he is the culprit behind the crime. Genia doesn't lose hope though and she feels its time Marco knows the truth.

Daniel insists on going home to the farm and Emily lets him go. Katerina busies herself with farm work and to help her, Nathan says she can pretend he is Daniel. Katerina smiles for the first time in days and gives Nathan a hug and this is what Daniel sees. He assumes that Katerina is happy without him and he decides to go with Emily to Italy. Emily arranges to have Daniel's name changed and soon he is in Milan with her. Genia reveals that Marco had a son with Emily and he has difficulty believing this. Marco could not help but ask Emily about their son but she denies even being pregnant. The pain of losing her child prompts Emily into blackmailing Marco and Jane about Johanna's real identity. Daniel sends money he earns from the vineyards to his grandmother through a bank account he opened in her name. Genia however is puzzled where the money came from. Katerina begins her part-time job as a waitress and she doesn't appreciate Nathan's over generosity because she feels like a charity case. Emily gets drunk in front of Daniel and shares with him how she misses her son.

Nathan asks Katerina to give him a chance to love her. Katerina asks for 3 signs to make sure Nathan is really the one for her. Coincidentally Nathan was able to do 2 out of the 3 and the last sign that would make Katerina say yes is if he proposes to her in the rain, just like one of her special memories with Daniel. Meanwhile, Daniel begins calling Emily 'Mama' and the two become closer together.

Nathan proposes to Katerina. Daniel heard the news about this and decided to go back to the Philippines to stop their wedding but Daniel failed to. He saw that Katerina is already happy with Nathan. Daniel felt like Katerina doesn't love her anymore. Emily felt bad for Daniel and she comforts him. The two of them plan their revenge to the Montenegros. Daniel was introduced as "Daniel Guidotti" and al of the Montenegros, including Katerina and Nathan, were shocked to see him alive. Emily smiles while watching the "scene" and that all of her plans are working. The world got smaller and smaller for all Of them. Daniel confronts Katerina. Marco and Emily met again. This will show if love is enough to conquer all odds and forget all the pans of revenge.
