Waheed Alam Khan was born on 1 April 1950 in Anarkali, Lahore, Pakistan. He is the third oldest sibling in a family which is involved mainly in Law and Advocacy. He is affiliated with Pakistan Muslim League (N).[1]

Education

Waheed Alam Khan graduated from the University of the Punjab with an M.A in Economics in 1972.

Political career

His father Hafiz Muhammad Sharif Amritsari was the first General Secretary of Lahore of the Tehreek-e-Pakistan movement along with Quaid e Azam – Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan. Hafiz Amritsari was also a poet, writer and a relative of Agha Shorish Kashmiri another poet, writer and a figure of the freedom movement of undivided India.

In 2005, Waheed Alam Khan contested the Nazim elections of UC-72 (Anarkali)[2] which he won and this propelled his political and social work career.

Elections 2013

In the National Assembly elections in 2013, Waheed Alam Khan was selected to represent PML(N) and contest for the Constituency NA-127 area. This ticket was granted to Waheed Alam Khan due to party policy to accommodate party workers.[3]

On May 11 May 2013, Waheed Alam Khan was elected as MNA (Member of National Assembly) from NA-127 with a large margin.[4][5]
