Victor S. "Vic" Gilliam (born July 21, 1953) is an American politician and part-time actor from the state of Oregon. A Republican, he has served in the Oregon House of Representatives from the 18th District since he was appointed in January 2007. A native of Ohio, he has lived in Silverton, Oregon since 1998.

Early life

Vic Gilliam was born in Dover, Ohio, on July 21, 1953.[1] After high school he received a Bachelor of Arts from Warner Pacific College in Portland, Oregon, in 1975.[1] In 1982, Gilliam earned a master of education degree in higher education administration from the University of South Carolina. Vic is married to Becky. He has two daughters, and Becky has a son.[1]

Career

Gilliam worked as a legislative aide for United States Senator Mark O. Hatfield from 1976–1981, and at the International Youth Foundation from 1983-2003.[1] He has worked as a development officer for Oregon Health Sciences University and Willamette University.[1] Gilliam is also a part-time actor, a member of the Screen Actors Guild who has appeared in one episode of the television series Leverage.[2]

In November 2015, Gilliam announced that he likely has ALS, though it is not a definitive diagnosis.[3]
