Other tourism resources include traditional ways of life preserved in local customs; rich and festival and architectural monument. All these tourism resources can be loosely grouped into two; nature-based tourism resources and cultural tourism resources. Nature-based tourism resources Unwana have some of the most beautiful sites in Ebonyi state. The sites relate to scenic beauty and environmental interesting areas that offer opportunities for sightseeing.

UNWANA GOLDEN SAND BEACH The Unwana is located which is located at the back of Dr. Ezeogo Francis Akanu Ibiam. This beach is a good tourist attraction. Providing a breath taking view, it is suitable for boat cruising and also ideal for picnic, recreation. It is a source of sand for builders and sand dealers around the community. Fishing is economic activity found around that place. If this beach is developed it is a good tourism attraction and can be used for boat regatta festival. OKOSA LAKE Okosa is a beautiful lake in Unwana. This lake harbours different varieties of fishes ranging from Tilapia, catfish, scarfish, prawn, crab etc. This lake is where the fishing festival takes place. This fishes are allowed to grow and reproduce (that is from the end of the festival to the beginning of another). This lake is still underdeveloped and if developed it is a good tourism attraction. OTA PAM PAM MINI WATERFALL This is another wonderful natural attraction in Unwana. The water pours out constantly like water from a turned-on tap. The water does not dry in both dry and raining seasons.

Cultural tourism resources Unwana is endowed with reach cultural heritage which they translate into different forms of festivals.

OKOSA FISHING FESTIVAL Okosa fishing festival is an annually event observed in the month of February in a lake called OKOSA. This lake harbours different varieties of fishes ranging from Tilapia, catfish, scarfish, prawn, crab etc. This fishes are allowed to grow and reproduce (that is from the end of the festival to the beginning of another). During this festival, great fishermen from the community compete with each other in all day and night fishing thereby making available excess fresh fishes for consumption at a token price. This festival lasts up to 1-2months. Like Argungu fishing festival in Kebbi State, if this festival is developed it has the ability to attract tourists and will not only promote the host community but will also make Ebonyi state one of the tourist home.

THE NEW YAM FESTIVAL (IKE JI IN UNWANA DIALECT) Is an annual festival by the Unwana people held at the end of August. The Ike Ji festival (literally "new-yam eating") symbolizes the beginning of a harvest and the beginning of the next work cycle. The celebration is a very culturally based occasion, tying the community together as essentially agrarian and dependent on yam. Yams are the first crop to be harvested, and are the most important crop. Yam which is regarded as the king of our farming seedlings, is symbolic to this celebration as newly harvested Yam is cooked and it's the food of the day. Families prepare this food waiting for friends and relatives to visit so that they can eat and dine together in celebration of a successful farming season. Nobody is allowed to harvest his/her farm produce (especially Yam) before the festival until after the celebration. The day is symbolic of enjoyment after the cultivation season, and the plenty is shared with friends and well-wishers.

IKO FESTIVAL (GASTRONOMIC EVENTS) This gastronomic event is a festival of reconciliations and love sharing. During this festival, families are expected to prepare a delicious meal (usually our native white soup prepared with moulded melon), such that can serve the family members, friends and well-wishers. The aim is to afford the opportunity to the community members to eat and dine together so as to reconcile with each other and to foster a formidable love amongst us. This festival just as the Ikeji festival is also extended to the neighbour community for a stronger relationship. IGBAMGBA (WRESTLING FESTIVAL) This is a festival for the brave. In the olden days, this festival was used to test the muscular strength of the men of the community such that before you get married, you must show your muscular strength to the community by participating in the festival. This is a wrestling festival in which strong men exhibit their muscular superiority by contesting in wrestles and come out champions.

OKUMKPO MASQURADE FESTIVAL This festival is used to expose the evil deeds of the evil men in the community. The whole community gathers at the village square to watch concert displays by the masquerades. These masquerades convert the evil deeds of people in the community into songs and sing it even in the presence of the evil men at the festival venue. Before the event, the masquerades will go out very early in the morning and move from house to house, to wake the community up and to greet good morning to the village elders. They can also be found along the roads were they greet people and beg for arms. This is one of the finest festivals in the community. OTHER TOURISM POTENTIALS IN UNWANA

1. The first upstairs built by Egwu Idam. This is a powerful historical monument. I call on the Ebonyi state tourism board to preserve this building and turn it to museum. This building is just like the old residence in Calabar. That is used as a national museum. This building can also be Ebonyi state museum, where many relics and stories and pictures of our past can be preserved. This can serve as a source of income to the Ebonyi state government.

2. The first Presbyterian Mission in Igboland and the first Mission in Ebonyi and Southern Igboland, second only to the Catholic and Anglican Missions in Igboland, based in Onitsha (Northern Igbo).

3. The ancient log that was Unwana to cross the Itara river in the 19 th century and before. The log is still there till date. The ancient log should be preserved and tourists can be taken to that place.
