The University of Cagayan Valley (UCV) is a private non-sectarian university in Cagayan Valley Region, Philippines. It was formerly known as Cagayan Teachers College and then Cagayan Colleges Tuguegarao.

On September 15, 2010, Dr. Victor V. Perez was installed as the first president of the university.[1]

The university was founded in 1948 by the late Atty. Matias Ponce Perez Sr., Ph. D. and Dona Caridad Ventura-Perez. It is located in the heart of Tuguegarao, Cagayan, Philippines where it maintains two campuses, the College Avenue Campus where the Dr. Matias P. Perez Sr. Building is situated that houses the College of Health and the High School Laboratory and the Balzain Campus which is now the main campus of the university where various buildings are quartered; the College of Law, School of Criminology, School of Arts and Sciences, School of Business Education, School of Teacher Education, College of Maritime Education, College of Engineering, College of Hotel and Restaurant Management, College of Information Technology and the College of Technology.

It is also in the Main Campus where the Computer Laboratories, Linda's Swimming Pool, CVP Hotel, Speech Laboratory, Maritime Laboratories, Mock Ship Mario, Crime Laboratory, Chemistry Laboratory, Dark Room for Photography, Interrogation Room, Firing/Shooting Range for Criminology students, Automotive Laboratory, Greyhounds Gymnasium and the newly constructed 5-storey Laboratory building are housed.[2]

Accreditation

UCV is ISO Quality Management System Certified 9000:2008 by British Standards Institution (BSI), the College of Maritime Education is also ISO certified by Det Norske Veritas (DNV) of Oslo, Norway,[3] and programs are accredited by Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA).[4]

The university is also accredited by TESDA that offers Technical and Vocational Education and Training Program (TVET) under the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority and Commission on Higher Education (CHED).[5][6]
