U Thaung (Burmese: ဦးသောင်း) was a member of parliament in the Pyithu Hluttaw, the lower house of Myanmar's national parliament. He contested the Kyaukse Township in the Burmese general election, 2010 and won. However, doubts were raised on the validity of ballot counting and transparency during polling, issues that National Democratic Force candidate Khin Maung Than, reiterated to the Union Election Commission.[1]
