The Trinity Forum is a conservative Christian non-profit organization founded in 1991 that fosters the development of networks of leaders who share its commitment to cultural renewal. The Trinity Forum engages leaders with the great ideas of civilization in the context of faith for personal and societal renewal. Their programs and publications catalyze reflection and conversation about life’s most important issues. The current president of the Trinity Forum is Cherie Harder.[1] The Trinity Forum is also a member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability.[2]
Since their founding in 1991, they have facilitated seminars, discussions, retreats, and lectures for thousands of leaders in North America, Europe, and Asia. To stimulate thought and discussion, the Trinity Forum has developed an exceptional collection of resource materials that can be used in conjunction with events or independently by individuals and groups. Stressing both core principles and practical application, Trinity Forum publications address themes including character, leadership, freedom, civil society, progress, reform, and philanthropy.
Trinity Forum Readings provide short biographies, essays, and classic stories and include original forwards to place the timeless themes within them in our current times. Trinity Forum curricula provide anthologies for purposeful discussion and reflection within a classroom, small group, or individual setting. History
The Trinity Forum was founded in 1991 by a group of businesspersons, thinkers, and former politicians dedicated to engaging leaders with the great ideas, in the context of faith, for the transformation and renewal of society.
Since its inception, the Trinity Forum has consistently focused on providing leaders with the opportunity to engage the great texts and ideas of Western civilization through publications and private forums. Each forum leads participants in a Socratic dialogue with open and honest conversation. In 1993, the Trinity Forum Europe was formed and is currently under the leadership of Jonathan Aitken. Since its founding, the Trinity Forum has facilitated hundreds of forums throughout the United States, Europe and Asia. The headquarters is located in Washington, DC.
The Trinity Forum maintains a relationship with the Osprey Point Retreat and Conference Center located near St. Michaels on Maryland's Eastern Shore. Osprey Point is the home of the Trinity Fellows Academy, an initiative launched under the name Trinity Forum Academy in 1999 to identify young leaders. The Academy is a nine-month residential fellowship for young leaders to explore faith, society and ideas.
Trinity Forum Publications
Trinity Forum Curricula: Organized around a unifying question, Trinity Forum Curricula are anthologies of excerpted readings from classic and contemporary texts. Though they are designed for Forums, each reading in the curriculum is preceded by an introduction and followed by discussion questions that make them accessible to a wider audience. Their longer format makes them great companions to an ongoing discussion groups or to individual study.
Trinity Forum Readings: Published quarterly, Trinity Forum Readings are small booklets of between 30 and 50 pages featuring short biographies, essays, and classic stories that speak to a timeless issue. An original foreword provides background and context for the Reading, and relates the issues raised in the text to contemporary challenges. The shorter format of these booklets makes them great for a single event or personal study. Alternately, some Readings are available in audio or digital PDF formats.
Trinity Forum Events
Trinity Forums: Since 1991, the Trinity Forum has facilitated seminars, discussions, and retreats for thousands of leaders in North America, Europe, and Asia. Trinity "Forums" are one- or two-day seminars that provide opportunities for participation in profound reflection and candid conversation about life's most important issues. Trinity "Forums" are moderated by TTF’s renowned network of Senior Fellows and Moderators and encourage respectful, honest engagement with Trinity Forum publications and other participants. They prize the pursuit of truth and emphasize integrity of faith and thought as leaders from all backgrounds seek to engage with the world and contribute to the transformation and renewal of society.
Evening Conversations: Since 2009, the Trinity Forum Evening Conversation Series has provided established and emerging leaders with regular opportunities to engage with leaders in thought on timeless topics. Evening Conversations are two-hour events where community leaders can connect with one another over wine and hors d'oeuvres and hear from some of the leading thinkers of today on timeless topics such as the dynamic interplay of science and spirituality, the complex relationship between politics and religion, and the life and thought of some of Western civilization's most significant figures like Dietrich Bonhoeffer. Speakers at Trinity Forum Evening Conversations are drawn from TTF’s network of Senior Fellows and other thought leaders. Previous speakers have included Os Guinness, Dallas Willard, Eric Metaxas, Roger Scruton, Max McLean, Gary Haugen, Dana Gioia, and David Aikman.
Trinity Forum Reading Groups: Trinity Forum Reading Groups are community-focused associations that help bring about the Trinity Forum’s mission of personal and societal renewal on the local level. They do this by fostering dialogue and relationships among like-minded leaders and individuals to create strong intellectual communities in a specific area through the strategic use of Trinity Forum programs and publications. Reading Groups are typically hosted in a comfortable setting where guests can share openly, while a moderator guides conversation.
