Torna ai felici dì

"Torna ai felici dì" (Return to the happy days) is an aria from Act 2 of the 1884 opera, Le Villi by Giacomo Puccini. It is sung by Roberto (tenor). It was composed during the performances at La Scala in 1885 (the first performance took place on January 24) and inserted into Roberto's "dramatic scene", composed a few months earlier for the Turin version (Teatro Regio, 27 December 1884).[1] In this form it was published by Ricordi in the second Italian edition of the score for voice and piano (1885). In 1889 further amendments were made to the opera, eliminating the previous scene, leaving only the dramatic romanza (fourth edition: 1891).
