Thomas Cook Retail Limited is a travel agent, owned by the Thomas Cook Group. The company operates branches throughout the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland, and employs around 19,000 people.[1]
In 2010, the Thomas Cook Group reached an agreement with The Co-operative Group to merge its branch network with that of The Co-operative Travel. The merger was approved by the Competition Commission in 2011, and the joint venture is 70% owned by the Thomas Cook Group and 30% owned by The Co-operative Group.[2]
