Thomas Brand (senior)

Thomas Brand (senior) (c. 1717 – 1770), was a British politician. [1]

He was the only son of Thomas Brand and educated at Eton College (1728) and probably Queens’ College, Cambridge (1735). He undertook the Grand Tour of Europe during 1739-41.

He was in turn elected as British Member of Parliament for New Shoreham 1741-47, Tavistock 1747-54, Gatton 1754-68 and Okehampton 1768-70.

He married Lady Caroline Pierrepont, the daughter of Evelyn Pierrepont, 1st Duke of Kingston-upon-Hull, and had a son and 2 daughters.
