Career

Road Rules

Von first gained fame during his college days on Road Rules: Maximum Velocity Tour. He later reappeared on the Road Rules spin-off , Real World/Road Rules Challenge, competing in Battle of the Seasons, The Gauntlet, Battle of the Sexes 2 and Fresh Meat. Von won The Gauntlet and Battle of the Sexes 2.

Comedy and Hosting

In 2006, Von appeared on season 4 of NBC's Last Comic Standing, winning the title of Last Comic Downloaded.[1]

In the summer of 2008, Von was cast in Comedy Central's Reality Bites Back,[2] a one-season series where a cast of comedians improvise their way through faux reality show episodes. Also cast were Donnell Rawlings, Bert Kreischer, Amy Schumer, Mo Mandel and Chris Fairbanks. The series was hosted by Michael Ian Black. That same year, Von was a panelist on America's Prom Queen and appeared on season 3 of Live at Gotham.

In 2009, Von created "crank texting" (sending a text message to random phone numbers to incite conversations), and began his crank texting blog, www.cranktexts.com, which was picked up as a column by CollegeHumor a year later.[3]

In 2012 Von became the host of Yahoo's TV recap show, Primetime in No Time, the most watched daily show on the internet, replacing former host Frank Nicotero.

In June 2012, Von's episode of The Half Hour premiered on Comedy Central, and he acted in his first film, InAPPropriate Comedy, which hit theaters in March 2013.[4]

In the summer of 2013, Von hosted the new TBS hidden camera show Deal With It, executive produced by Howie Mandel.[2] The show was picked up for its 2nd season in early 2014, and finished its 32 episode run in early 2015. Von has also been seen on The Arsenio Hall Show, Hello Ross, Chelsea Lately and Watch What Happens Live.

He also appears in many of Adam Carolla's podcasts.

In 2015 Theo started a weekly podcast with Matthew Cole Weiss called "Allegedly with Theo Von & Matthew Cole Weiss". Two totally opposite friends – comedian Theo Von and filmmaker/journalist Matt Cole Weiss - compete to see who has better “alleged" tales of celebrities, hilarity, trauma, dating, success and failure from their years living in Hollywood. Points will be given, winners will be chosen and careers will be altered forever…allegedly.

"Allegedly with Theo Von & Matthew Cole Weiss" is one of the highest rated celebrity podcasts as of 2016 with such "A" list celebrities like David Spades, Lou Diamond Phillips, Dennis Quaid, Howie Mandel, and Kevin Pollack.

His first one-hour comedy special Theo Von: No Offense was released on Netflix February 26, 2016 where he revealed in his younger days he used to work at a door store.
