Tejas Networks is an Indian product company in computer networking and telecommunication space and based in Bangalore, India. Tejas has been one of the earliest R&D centric organizations in telecommunications space in India that designs, develops and manufactures advanced fiber-optic transmission and broadband access equipment for telecom service providers, utility and defence sector. It is currently among the top domestic suppliers in India’s optical networking market. Its products are deployed in more than 60 countries & is a top patent filer in India’s ICT sector with over 200 patents granted or pending in India and abroad. Tejas Networks is also the recipient of several national and international awards for its R&D, product development and exports. Some of these include the prestigious CSIR Technology Award from the Prime Minister of India, which it has won twice once in 2007 & then in 2012. It has also won the DST/TDB National Award for Technology Commercialization from the President of India in 2016.

Tejas Networks was founded in May 2000 and launched India's first indigenously designed and developed fiber-optic communications product, TJ100, in 2001. Since then it has developed over 30 products for optical networking and its flagship products TJ1400, TJ1600 and TJ5500 are deployed in networks for mobile backhaul, utilities (Railways, Power, Oil & Gas sector) and enterprise services applications.

Tejas optical netowrking products are based on Dense Wave Division Multiplexing (DWDM), Optical Transport Networks (OTN), Packet Transport Networks (PTN) and Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDH) or synchronous optical networking (SONET) Technology.

The company is headquartered in Bangalore and has research and development centres in Bangalore, Mumbai and Noida. It has sales offices in US, Dubai, Malaysia, Kenya and Nigeria.

Dr. Ashok Jhunjhunwala, V. Balakrishnan and Leela K. Ponappa are independent directors on the board of Tejas Networks.
