A THZY UAV is a Chinese UAV developed by Tianjin Tian-Hen-Zhi-Yuan Science and Technology Co., Ltd. (THZY, 天津天恒智远科技有限公司), which is a Spin-off of an aerial photography firm.

Fixed-wing UAV

The general designer of all THZY UAVs is the owner of THZY, Mr. Wu Zhi-Yong (吴智勇, 1987 —), who had previously worked for two private aviation firms after graduation from Tianjin University in 2010. In 2012, with the help of his parents, Mr. Wu formed his own company named Cloud Friend Science and Technology Co., Ltd. (云友科技有限公司), which specializes in providing aerial cinematography, photography and survey services. Subsequently, Mr. Wu vendured into the area of developing his own UAVs with the spin-off THZY, and the fixed-wing UAV is one of such results. During the development, THZY earned numerous patents on structural and external designs.[1]

Unmanned helicopter

THZY unmanned helicopter is an UAV is conventional helicopter layout with a pair of skids as landing gear. The main rotor of THZY unmanned UAV can be folded to save space. Judging from the photo released, the unmanned helicopter appears to be utilizing commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) subystems such as airframe.[1]

Multicopters

Majority of THZY UAVs are multicopters, and some of which have been deployed by various local Chinese law enforcement agencies. THZY multicopters are named as Tianyuan (天远, meaning sky afar) TH series.[1]
