Svetoslav Emilov Vitkov (Bulgarian: Светослав Емилов Витков) is a Bulgarian singer, karate instructor and songwriter, best known for his work with Hipodil.

History

He was born on the 26 January 1971 to Emil Vitkov and Nadezhda (née Kukova). His family from his mothers side is from Bulgarians from the region of Macedonia.[1] Vitkov has one brother named Nikolay.[2]

He was first involved in karate in 1985, and has a black belt. He has taught karate since 1995.

Vitkov is a graduate of the Sofia High School of Mathematics.

In 1991, he joined the then-fledgling punk rock band Hipodil to replace its previous singer, Miroslav Telalov, who left the band to serve in the Bulgarian army.

In 2011, he and fellow band member Ventsislav Mitsov ran for president and vice president of Bulgaria.[3]

He has written three books on his time with Hipodil and karate, among other things.
