Super Lover Cee & Casanova Rud (b. Calente Frederick & Erik Rudnicki) are an old school American hip hop crew from the Bronx, NY.
Legacy
They released their incredible debut album "Girls I Got 'Em Locked" in 1988 featuring legendary producer/engineer Paul C on the boards. With a video for the Girls I Got 'Em Locked track in rotation on Yo!MTV Raps, they achieved moderate success but no mainstream recognition. With Paul C's passing and Super Lover Cee on production,
their follow up second ep "Blow Up The Spot" (1993) didn't see any success and flopped. Super lover Cee had a guest spot on PreC.I.S.E. MC's album PreC.I.S.E.-Ly Done on a track titled "So You Think You Got 'Em Locked" in 1991. Super lover Cee recently made a cameo on Fareed's song titled "Better Wit Me" in 2006. Super Lover Cee & Casanova Rud, born Calente Frederick and Erik Rudniki,[1] are no new comers to the game. Super Lover Cee and Casanova Rud have been long time friends, recording artist, and business partners for more than Twenty years. Most remember the two from their debut PolyGram single release, “Do The James”. This was followed up with the second single, “Super Casanova”, from the follow up Elektra Records Album release, “Girls I Got’em Locked”. Super Lover Cee & Casanova Rud toured with artists of the early hip hop such as Salt-N-Peppa, Kid and Play, and ICE T. and many more. The duo also performed side by side with artist such as Public Enemy, Big Daddy Kane, and The Wu Tang. The duo made waves with their production and master techniques in the studio by the talented Paul C (who tragically was killed in July, 1989).
After the Death of their friend and colleague, Paul C, Super Lover Cee and Casanova Rud went on hiatus till 1993 with the release of their second album "Blow Up The Spot". Taking another shot at the industry Super Lover Cee & Casanova Rud released this album on Sony Music and Wild Pitch (EMI).[2]
