Subisu CableNet Pvt. Ltd. is a privately owned Nepalese company in the fields of trading, cable TV and cable internet. It was established in 1999 and provides internet through HFC network along with TV channels.[1] Subisu is the first and only cable internet service provider and the cable operator in Nepal to be ISO 9001:2008 certified.[2]

History

Before the name Subisu, it was first started under the name of Doshan Traders by Dal Bahadur Shrestha. Doshan Traders which was one of the trading house involved in the promotion of Chinese goods in Nepal. It was engaged in trading of Tibetan wool, Chinese electronics and electrical products and commodities. To keep themselves abreast with the latest technology, the Dosham Traders was renamed as Subisu in January 1998. After that, Subisu started representing foreign companies for business opportunities in all sectors of Nepal such as Telecommunications, Power, Water Supplies, Commodities trading etc. Subisu CableNet Pvt. Ltd. was formally start from the year 2000 as a Cable TV service provider in Kathmandu. In August 2004, the company also launched its Cable Internet service along with several services like, Metro Ethernet solution, VPN service, Remote Surveillance etc. [3][4]

Cable internet

Subisu Cablenet introduce cable internet service in August 2004. It uses Optical Fiber Cable to deliver its Cable Internet Solution and MPLS VPN Solution and VPLS solution. Optical Fiber Cable Network provides the backbone transmission media to any service that Subisu has on offer to its clients. Cable TV, Cable Modem & Subisu Wi-Fi solution is provided through HFC network terminating at the customer ends with Coaxial cable or wireless modem.[5]

Cable TV

It introduce Cable TV in 2000. It provide variety of TV channels including informatics and entertainment like, Sony, Star world, Kantipur and so on, which helps people to be updated with latest technology as well as news around the world.[6]

Digital TV

There are more than 100 channels including Western as well as Nepali such as, Bindaas, Colors, VH1, Nick, Star Sports, Nepal Television, Himalaya and so on.[7]
