They are in present 132 countries, and specialize in education and social service institutions for youth. Founded in 1934, St. Anthony’s College has the distinction being the first institution of higher learning established by the Salesians world-wide. At present, under the dynamic leadership of the Principal, Br. (Dr.) Albert Longley Dkhar, SDB, the college is progressing ahead wonderfully.

History

Guided by the religious and educational philosophy of St. John Bosco, and born of the vision of a Don Bosco Father, Fr. Joseph Bacchiarello, St. Anthony's College was founded in 1934 with the mission of 'bringing college education within the reach of common man and woman'. Ever since, the college has been nurtured by the Salesians of Don Bosco.

In 2014, the college has been reaccredited with "A" grade by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), an autonomous body of University Grants Commission, India, during the 3rd Cycle of assessment of the college. The CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) came to 3.14 out of 4.0, making the college one of highest graded in the north east and east of the country.
