The speed skating competition of the PyeongChang 2018 Olympics are scheduled to be held at the Gangneung Oval in Gangneung between 10 and 24 February 2018.[1]

Events

The International Skating Union announced that it would try to add a mass start event to the Olympic program.[2] The ISU agreed to add the mass start, but if the IOC would accept it, that would also mean the 500 meters event would be raced only once (opposed to twice as it was between 1998 and 2014).[3] The mass start was eventually accepted by the IOC.[4]
