Sonon Asogli Thermal Power Station

Sonon Asogli Thermal Power Station, also Asogli Thermal Power Station, is a 200 megawatts (270,000 hp) natural gas-fired thermal power station in Ghana. It is located in the Kpone neighborhood of the port city of Tema, approximately 32 kilometres (20 mi), by road, east of the central business district of Ghana's capital city, Accra.[1]

The power plant, which came online in 2010, is privately owned by Sunon Asogli Power (Ghana) Limited', a company in which Shenzhan Energy Group Limited maintains 60% shareholding and the remaining 40% is owned by China Africa Development Fund.[2] Installed capacity is 200MW, although often, output is less than maximum.[3]
