Sollen is a Hungarian thrash metal band from Budapest.

History

The band was founded in 2001 by Norbert Csörgő (drums), Krisztián Czipó (bass) and Viktor Kovács (guitar). For two years this team formed the band. During the early times they had a violin player, but that person ultimately left. Later Vágó Anikó (vocal) and Nagy Ádám (second guitar player) joined the band. The band's musical style can best be described as the mixture of traditional thrash and melodic Scandinavian metal, slowly developed throughout continuous member recruitment and member changes.

The present setup was established, after in 2004 Ádám Nagy (guitar), and almost a year after, in 2005 András Földesi (lead vocals) joined the band. The band regularly performs on concerts since the end of 2005. They recorded a 3 song demo in 2006. They regularly have club concerts. In 2009 they recorded a 2nd demo with two songs in Jawbreaker Studio, Dunakeszi.

The name "Sollen" is a Celtic language “gael” word meaning winter. From the early times the band did not have a name Anikó idea of Sollen.
