Società Ginnastica Triestina

Società Ginnastica Triestina (Gymnastics Club Triestina) is an association of amateur sports from Trieste. The club has been honoured by CONI Stella d'oro Sporting Merit, Gold Medal at the Ministry of Education about the school and gold collar CONI for Sporting Merit.[1]

Deals with basketball, gymnastics, fencing, volleyball, judo and other martial arts, ballet and modern dance, yoga and other sports.

History

The club was founded in 1863.[2] For more than a century has been the focus of the sports activities of the territory, crossing even the borders Giuliani and representing Italy at international level at the 1936 Berlin Olympics gymnastics Italian team was almost all of Trieste, like that of men's basketball.

In his long sporting tradition it boasts 125 blue, 25 participants in the Olympics, the first Olympic gold medal, 19 world titles, 24 European titles and 196 Italian titles of which 107 female.

The basketball section have won both ten championships in the female (5) and male (5) first national divisions (women's Serie A1 and Lega Basket Serie A). The women's team currently dispute the A1 series.
